Executive Functioning Evaluations for Schools

3-hour Workshop/Training in person, Zoom, or hybrid

How well a student does in school has far more to do with Executive Functioning than many think. From being prepared and organized, getting started on work, to getting the work completed, all require executive functioning skills. You will leave this training with an understanding of why an Executive Functioning Evaluation is critical for your comprehensive evaluations. Executive Functions have a clear impact on 5 of our 13 disability categories that school psychologists are called upon to help IEP teams determine eligibility and to help develop appropriate goals. Not addressing how a student’s Executive Functioning impacts their disability (or in fact it their disability) will most likely leave need(s) unaddressed, thus violating FAPE. You will leave this workshop with a better understanding of the tools used in evaluating them (many you may already use) and how they can help determine these needs, as well as more specific Executive Functioning assessment tools you may not be as familiar with. You will also leave knowing where exactly Executive Functioning falls in the 8 Basic Psychological Processes required for Specific Learning Disability in California’s CCR 3030(b)(10).
