Consultation

If there are complex eligibility cases your district is facing, I offer consultation services to help, depending on your needs. Please review my CV (and feel free to Google me). Our first meeting is free (up to an hour). Sometimes all that is really needed is that free consultation.

Cost after that first meeting can be done on an hourly basis (divided down to 10 min increments)

  • Hourly rate is $250

or

I can be kept on retainer for a predetermined number of hours a year (these hours will be less than my normal hourly rate) paid at the beginning of the school year:

  • Once those hours are used, additional hours go back up to the regular hourly rate.

  • If the year’s hours go unused, they are automatically applied to the next year (they do not expire).

If there are cases going to fair hearing, your attorneys can help your school psychologists with procedural issues, but the practice of school psychology is something they really can’t. If your attorney feels your school psychologist would benefit from consultation, I’m here to help.

For parents in the Colorado area…

  • I may be able to help:

  • If you are having difficulty with your school district providing you with the educational services that are in your child’s Individualized Education Plan.

  • If you are having difficulty with your school district addressing the needs of your child and you think they may have a disability.

  • If you have questions regarding the evaluation that the school district did for your child and need assistance going over or question those findings.

  • I will not help you advocate for everything you want for your child, but I can help you advocate for everything your child needs based on the data.

At this time, I am not doing IEEs in Colorado but may in the future.

What you should know about me if I decide to do Independent Education Evaluation (IEE) for

children.

  • I am not a pay for the diagnosis/disability doctor. That is unethical.

  • I do not assess a child to get the results someone pays for. That is unethical.

  • The results will speak for themselves and come from all the data from the child, parents, school and my own observations.

  • I also do not do IEEs for children I advocate (or have advocated) for because that would raise bias questions as well as conflict of interest. But I will help you work with the district to have them pay for the IEE (or much of it) and find the best qualified to conduct it.
